A white waxy solid obtained from Chinese wax, and by the
distillation of cerotin.

from, beeswax or Chinese wax; as, cerotic acid or
alcohol.

wax, and regarded as an alcohol of the marsh gas series; --
called also cerotic alcohol, ceryl
