the maxilla in insects. (b) The hinge
of a bivalve shell.

[NL. Anacardium generic name of the cashew + L.
oleum oil.] (Chem.) A yellow oily liquid,
extracted from the shell of the cashew nut.

Car*doon" (kär*d&oomac;n"), n.
[F. cardon. The same word as F. cardon thistle, fr.
L. carduus, cardus, LL. cardo. See 3d
Card.] (Bot.) A large herbaceous plant
(Cynara Cardunculus) related to the artichoke; -- used in
cookery and as a salad.

gh^rys voice. Not akin to cure. Cf.
Chary.] 1. A burdensome sense of
