(Bot.) A genus of plants, of the order
Araceæ.


&fist; The common Calla of cultivation is Richardia
Africana
, belonging to another genus of the same order. Its
large spathe is pure white, surrounding a fleshy spike, which is
covered with minute apetalous flowers.
