Cadaveric alkaloid, an alkaloid
generated by the processes of decomposition in dead animal
bodies, and thought by some to be the cause of the poisonous
effects produced by the bodies. See Ptomaine.

cadaverosus.] 1. Having the
appearance or color of a dead human body; pale; ghastly; as, a
cadaverous look.


2. Of or pertaining to, or having the
qualities of, a dead body.
